About the program
Music Instrumental at Liberty University will teach you how to transpose your love of music into both a profession and a ministry, regardless of the career you pursue.
In our B.A. in Instrumental Music program, you will study philosophy, a foreign language, and take a literature or cultural studies elective, providing the basis of your liberal arts degree and helping you view music within the larger context of society as a whole.
If you choose to pursue our instrumental specialization, you will work one-on-one with an instructor to increase your technical and performance skills. You will also have the opportunity to learn a secondary instrument and participate in ensemble performances. As a senior, you will participate in a senior recital showcasing your instrumental music skills.

Minimum requirements
Admission decisions are competitive and are based primarily on the following factors:
- Cumulative (unweighted) GPA from high school or college
- GED scores (if applicable)
- Consistency and trends of grades
- Results from the SAT, ACT, or CLT
- Essay submission
50% of admitted students come from within the following mid-ranges:
- High School GPA: 3.15-3.83
- SAT (ERW* and math only): 1020-1220
- ACT composite: 20-27
