Scholarships

When your admissions decision has been made, an international admissions counselor will automatically post to your account certain scholarships and institutional aid that you are eligible to receive. This does not include certain scholarships that may require an additional application (e.g. Honor’s program).

Below are the forms of aid available for eligible students:

  • Students with a grade average of 3.0 or higher, on a 4.0 scale, will be awarded an Academic Scholarship unless they submit test scores that are lower than eligible for academic scholarships.
  • All international students enrolling in a bachelor’s degree program on Liberty’s campus will receive the Champion Award which has a value of $8,000 distributed over four years. This award starts with $1,000 for the first year and increases each year of enrollment for four years.
  • Students with excellent grades in high school are encouraged to apply for the Honors Program before enrolling in the university. Students who may not have qualified for the Honors Program before attending may apply after their first semester by submitting their Liberty University first semester’s grades, provided it’s 4.0 GPA. Honors Program students earn a scholarship of $2,000 per semester.
  • Liberty encourages international students to apply for scholarships from outside the university. The university offers special workshops to help students locate and apply for such awards.
  • Students who live within campus housing for one or more years and are interested in a leadership role can apply to be a Resident Assistant (RA) or Resident Shepherd (RS). These responsibilities come with scholarships.
  • Students with special athletic abilities are encouraged to contact the coach of the sport they are interested in playing to learn more about athletic scholarships. Liberty is an NCAA Division I school and athletic scholarships are very competitive.
  • Applicants with special financial needs should discuss scholarship opportunities with their admission counselor to make sure they have considered every opportunity available.
  • Liberty offers a very competitive Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship with only a limited number of scholarships available each year.
